Luton Connect · Free
Details
A free in-person meetup for anyone taking their first step into tech. No experience needed, everyone is welcome. We’ll talk through how people actually get started, what cloud and security mean in plain English, and how to take the next step without drowning in tools or trends. The exact Saturday hasn’t been finalised yet; it’ll fall between the last week of September and the second week of October.
We'll talk about
- Getting started in tech. How beginners actually begin: what to learn first, how to practise, and how to build confidence without collecting random tutorials.
- Cloud. What cloud computing actually is, why companies hire for it, and the big ideas behind IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS without the buzzwords.
- Security. The security basics every beginner should know: identity, least privilege, shared responsibility, and why secure habits matter from day one.
- Community and next steps. Meet others in Luton on the same path, ask anything, and leave with a simple plan for what to do the following week.
